About
A

How can a law firm that has such high esteem for knowledge best show its social responsibility? “By encouraging the best to expand their knowledge”, says Attorney at Law Miro Senica, who specifically for this purpose founded the Parus Foundation for the financing of postgraduate studies.

The Parus Foundation, with the consent of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia, started to implement its mission in January 2006.

With its founding act, it undertook to allocate the collected funds for the granting of postgraduate studies of commercial law and law of legal and economic sciences. In this way, the Parus Foundation enables the most successful graduates from the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana to study at the most prestigious universities in the world, including, for example, Harvard and Yale.

MISSION

The Parus Foundation offers assistance to the most successful law graduates for postgraduate studies in the most intellectually stimulating environments of the world’s best universities.

VISION

Studying with the most distinguished professors and accessing the best and most comprehensive libraries will enable the chosen candidates to acquire knowledge and experience not only for an excellent practice of law, but also for the future governance of the economy, the public sector and educational processes. Only with the highest level of knowledge we can actively participate in solving the most complex global legal and social challenges.

VALUES

We value academic excellence, superior knowledge and personal motivation.

We strengthen international ties as the most effective way to achieve global success.

We strive for a society of inclusion and mutual respect.

Acts

The Parus Foundation has received an award from the Association of Slovenes Educated Abroad

On December 26, 2020, the Association of Slovenes Educated Abroad (Association VTIS) presented the VTIS LETA 2020 award to the Parus Foundation in the premises of the Presidential Palace, where the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor hosted the traditional annual meeting of the association. The Association presents the award to organisations and individuals for activities in the field of networking and cooperation between Slovenian citizens at home and abroad. At the award ceremony, the representative of the Association emphasized the excellence of the Parus Foundation’s activities in the field of knowledge circulation between Slovenia and foreign countries, which is extremely important for the Slovenian legal system, as the only obligation of our scholarship holders is to return to Slovenia and to transfer the acquired knowledge into Slovenian society for at least three years. On behalf of the Parus Foundation, the VTIS LETA 2020 award was accepted by the Foundation’s business secretary, attorney Katarina Mervič, and Uroš Čop, managing partner of Law Firm Senica & Partners, Ltd.
