Due to the epidemic, I as an employer, cannot provide work for at least 30% of my employees and will thus have to put them on temporary waiting for work. What can I do to help remedy the loss of income?

According to the new Intervention Measures in the Area of Salaries and Social Contributions Act the government shall help employers who, due to the virus epidemic, cannot provide work for at least 30 percent of their employees and will thus have to place them on temporary waiting for work.

In such case employees are entitled to receive wage compensation in the amount of 80% of their salary, whereby the employers will have to provide 60% of these payments and the government shall reimburse the employers in the amount of 40% of these payments. The period of reimbursement shall last a maximum of three months and shall last by 30 September 2020 at the latest.

In case an employee will be in quarantine and the employer is not able to organise work from home, the government will cover 100% of the wage compensation.
