The Islamic Community in the Republic of Slovenia awarded Founding and Managing Partner of our Law Firm, Miro Senica, the honorary award of the Golden Medal of the Islamic Community in the Republic of Slovenia.

With its honorary award, The Islamic Community recognises individuals who have made a significant contribution to the functioning, visibility and acceptance of the Islamic Community in the wider social environment. It is the highest recognition awarded by the Islamic Community anywhere in the world.

As stated in the justification of the award, Miro Senica had contributed with his knowledge, expertise, professional and human attitude to the project of the Muslim Cultural Centre and to the construction and installation of Islamic urban and architectural surplus not only in Slovenia but also in Europe. With his advice and unwavering support to the Islamic Community, Miro Senica had made an important contribution to the realization of half a century dream and to the creation of an Islamic religious and cultural centre, which is important for both the city of Ljubljana and Slovenian society.

The construction of the Muslim Cultural Centre results from many years of effort for equal representation of all religions in our region. It represents one of the most significant cultural achievements of Slovenian society since the independence of the Republic of Slovenia. Today we can be happy that an effective intercultural dialogue, to which mufti Nedžad Grabus and attorney at law Miro Senica have successfully contributed, has put Slovenia on the world map of religions as a country open to differences and changes.

The award is an important recognition of the contribution that Miro Senica, alongside with our law firm, dedicates to respecting and exercising human rights in the field of religious freedom and the fight against incitement to hatred and intolerance.

The painting, gifted to Miro Senica in addition to the award, is the work of Bosnian painter Mersad Berber, who began his career studying in Slovenia and became one of the most internationally renowned artists in the region.
